About Me

My pursuit of photography as a craft began when I was only 14 years old – thirteen years ago when I was in high school! It’s strange to me now, but it seems like only a few days ago I was considering an elective for graduation requirements. So much time has passed and my love for photography has enabled me to experience some out-of-this-world situations.

When I was in school at Texas A&M – College Station (Whoop), I had the opportunity to be a part of an amazing world-class environment that was a hot bed for some fantastic news/journalistic events. While living in College Station, I worked as a freelance photojournalist for a few leading Texas daily newspapers including the Austin American-Statesman, Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle and other news wire services and magazines. For a couple of summers I lived in Austin as a full time staff photographer for the Austin American-Statesman and loved every minute of it. It was a great mentoring experience working with some of the top directors of photography, photo editors, and writers in Texas.

Working as a professional photojournalist for years has shaped the way I approach photography. It has taught me to be patient, precise, calm under pressure and has heightened my ability to anticipate “the shot” in every situation.

I enjoy photographing with a documentary approach. This allows me to be a part of a scene, as it happens – without interrupting real emotion and finding the true art of life.

Now working independently, it is an absolute joy meeting some of the most amazing people and being a small part of a very beautiful and happy time in their lives – the unity of their families.

Currently, I enjoy living in Dallas with my lovely wife Katie. Most days you might catch us at the dog park watching our very cute puppy Mia run circles around the big dogs!

I look forward to telling your story!
